Welcome!

Welcome!

I am currently enrolled at UVic Law. Previously, I was a sessional instructor at the University of the Fraser Valley in Abbotsford, BC, where I taught US history, environmental history, and the history of medicine.

My research is interdisciplinary, with a focus on medical and legal policy, and the intersections between medicine and law. I hold a PhD in History from the University of Oregon, and both my teaching and research revolve around issues of social justice. My dissertation (Creating Confidentiality: Physician‑Patient Privilege and Medical Confidentiality in the United States, 1776‑1975) examines issues of medical confidentiality, surveillance, and privacy, while my teaching is often focused on uncovering the origins and causes of contemporary problems.
